Make it Better!

What does the statement make it better mean to you? We all will have our thoughts or even many different ones about it. In fact, I can say that I know it has many different meanings for everyone. For the past few months, our lives have been impacted by the coronavirus in varying degrees. Although some are still working, they are working differently. This has been a time of self-reflecting for me. Experiencing the "stay at home" or "sheltering in" order is definitely new. However, it has been a time when I am hearing from God with great clarity. I know I needed it in every area of my life professionally, personally and most of all Spiritually. No matter who you are, particularly if you are a believer in Christ, you will always gain from greater clarity.

Make it better! Make what better by having been here? That thought played and replayed in my mind. God was revealing practices that not only apply to kingdom living but ones that will enhance our everyday lives. This short, simple statement has the potential to be life-changing if we choose to apply it. Not only that, but we will also, in turn, be making the world a better place for others. When I first heard “make it better,” I thought, "Humm?" I will apply this to my household. So, as I passed through each room, I would intentionally look for something I could do to make it better. Pick up something and put it away, straighten a rug, throw something out, whatever, I was looking. Now you already, know if you look around your room, you will find more than one thing that needs to be done. Or, is that just at my house. Anyway, I would do one or a few things and keep moving. Can you see how at the end of the day that would have a big impact? God is saying to me, make this world better from you having been here. In other words, make your time here count.

What is your contribution to the world? What are you doing to protect the environment? Are you making it a better place from having been here? Are you being a good steward of its resources? Do you consistently recycle, conserve when possible, and use environmentally friendly products. Just think, if we all did our small part in "Making it better." Making it abetter can also be applied to those in your social circle. When talking to others, are you providing information that can help them do be better or do better? Are you helping to equip them with strategies that they can be applied to their lives? Or, are you a voice of wisdom, one with insight and encouraging words? Commit to making things better for others by refusing to support negativity and spreading gossip. What you do counts!

Make it better! Does this apply to the work environment? Sure it does. Are you doing your job well? Or, are you exerting just enough effort to meet the minimal or average production requirements when your ability indicates that you can do much more? What are you doing to increase the value of your position and as a result of the organization as a whole? What are your thoughts? Make it better!!!
